‘Youths pillars of a society, we will give chance to hone skills’
PAY kicks off youth panel discussions
KUWAIT CITY, April 27, (KUNA): The Public Authority for Youth (PAY) launched on Wednesday the first of a series of discussion panels with the youth in Farwaniya governorate, in a bid to prop up support of the youth.
The discussions, attended by Farwaniya Governor Sheikh Faisal Al-Humoud Al-Malik Al-Sabah and Director General of PAY Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi, gave youth the opportunity to voice their views on initiatives they want to see undertaken.
Farwaniya governorate will fulfill the youth’s needs and provide them with the chance to hone their skills, Sheikh Faisal said in a keynote speech.
Moreover, Sheikh Faisal called the youth the pillars of any society or nation, describing them as the promise for a better tomorrow. Holding these discussions is a testament to the government’s prioritization of youth affairs, in lieu of the talent they possess, he added. In his speech, Al-Mutairi said that these discussions were put together as means of giving the youth the platform to offer their viewpoints and feedback on activities initiated by PAY.
Faisal Al-Mesab, 22, one of many youths participating in the discussions, underscored the significance of these talks, describing them as a link between the youth and officials.
Dunia Al-Fadhli, 15, a student taking part in the discussions, noted that “it is imperative to build a generation fully capable of overcoming any challenges.” The next session of the discussions is slated for May in Hawally governorate, with others to follow in remaining governorates.
