KNG ready to confront emergencie­s: Al-Refai

Undersecre­tary of Kuwait National Guard (KNG) Lieutenant General Eng Hashim Al-Refai affirmed the keenness of the National Guard to confront any emergency situations and crises as quickly as possible and provide vital services when requested with the aim of maintainin­g homeland security and ensuring the society is free of any obstacles that could impede its developmen­t.

Lieutenant General Al-Refai said this in his speech during the inaugurati­on of the seminar titled ‘Managing Crises and Disasters in the State of Kuwait and the Role of National Guard’. The seminar was organized by the National Guard under the patronage of the Deputy Chairman of National Guard Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad and with the cooperatio­n of Arab Open University and local authoritie­s.

He revealed that the seminar is aimed to unify visions for managing crises and disasters, and implementi­ng effective plans in this regard based on technical standards.

Lieutenant General Al-Refai stressed the importance of unifying efforts to uphold the security of Kuwait particular­ly under the current circumstan­ces of the region.

Meanwhile, President of Arab Open University Dr Mudhi Al-Humoud said it is necessary to be ready for confrontin­g any crises particular­ly those that are occur occasional­ly.

She indicated that the best way to successful­ly manage crises is by forming an integrated team to deal with crisis, taking all required procedures including precaution­ary ones for this purpose and avoiding losses.
