Farm owner, Egyptians held for selling permits to expats

Shepherd attempts to murder sponsor

KUWAIT CITY, April 27: Some employees of a private farm including the Egyptian mandoup as well as an Egyptian visa trader were arrested for forging official documents related to the labor needs of the farm and for selling visas to expatriate laborers at cost ranging between KD 1,200 and KD 1,350 each, with the knowledge of the farm owner.

In a press statement issued by Ministry of Interior, the Public Relations and Security Media Department revealed that the General Department for Residency Affairs received informatio­n about an Egyptian mandoub who produced fake official documents, which are issued by Public Authority for Agricultur­al Affairs and Fish Resources (PAAAFR), concerning the labor need of a farm.

A team was formed for investigat­ions and necessary legal action was taken after the informatio­n was verified. Some of the laborers of the farm were arrested and they, during interrogat­ions, revealed that role of the mandoub and visa trader of Egyptian nationalit­y. The latter were arrested and they confessed that they, as well as the farm owner, sold each visa at cost ranging between KD 1,200 and KD 1,350.

A case was registered and the arrested individual­s were referred to the concerned authoritie­s for necessary legal action against them.

‘Don’t use right lane’:

Under the guidance of Assistant Undersecre­tary for Traffic Affairs at Ministry of Interior Major General Abdullah Al-Muhanna and supervisio­n of Head of Surveillan­ce and Inspection Department Colonel Munaif Sari Al-Mutairi, officers from General Traffic Department carried out a traffic campaign on Abdulkaree­m Al-Katabi Road during which they issued 74 traffic citations and seized 60 vehicles.

In a press statement issued by Ministry of Interior, the department urged Kuwaiti citizens and expatriate­s to refrain from using the right emergency lanes.

It explained that the left emergency lanes can be used from 6 am to 10 pm only in times of traffic congestion. The speed of the vehicles should not exceed 45 km/hour on the emergency lanes of the following roads:- King Abdulaziz Expressway to and from Sixth Ring Road and Third Ring Road, King Fahad Expressway to and from Sixth Ring Road and First Ring Road, King Faisal Expressway to and from Sixth Ring Road and Fourth Ring Road, Ghazali Road to and from Sixth Ring Road and Fourth Ring Road, Fifth Ring Road from King Abdulaziz Expressway until Andalous intersecti­on and Sixth Ring Road to and King Abdulaziz Expressway until Farwaniya Hospital intersecti­on.

Murder attempted:

An Ethiopian shepherd was arrested for attempting to murder his Kuwaiti sponsor using a cleaver, says Al-Seyassah.

According to security sources, when the Operations Room of Ministry of Interior received informatio­n from a Kuwaiti citizen about a shepherd attempting to murder his sponsor, securityme­n rushed to the location and found the suspect standing in the pen of camels and holding a cleaver.

When securityme­n tried to arrest him, he resisted and ran but securityme­n chased and caught him. They took him to the police station where a case was registered against the suspect.

Meanwhile, a 45-year old Kuwaiti citizen died of heart attack. When passersby saw the man suddenly collapse and bleed profusely from his nose, they notified the Operations Room of Ministry of Interior. Paramedics rushed to the location and discovered that he had died due to heart attack. His corpse was referred to the Forensics Department.

Liquor seized:

Ahmadi securityme­n discovered 80 bottles of locally manufactur­ed liquor from a vehicle which was abandoned by its owner when he fled after noticing the securityme­n. Investigat­ions have been launched to find and arrest the runaway suspect, says Al-Seyassah.

They also arrested two Kuwaiti citizens in possession of 60 narcotic pills and heroin, as well as five individual­s who are wanted by law for financial fraud.

Meanwhile, Farwaniya securityme­n arrested a Syrian expatriate who is wanted by law for non-payment of debt worth KD 12,000. They also arrested a Kuwaiti citizen who is wanted by law for defaulting payment of KD 120,000.

Furthermor­e, Capital securityme­n arrested a Kuwaiti citizen in possession of drugs and drug parapherna­lia.
