‘Life, property protected’:
Director of Societal Police Department in the Interior Ministry Brigadier Abdul Rahman Al-Abdullah attended the graduation ceremony for students, who completed the Social Friends Program, in Kaeb Bin Zoher Primary School.
Speaking at the event, Al-Abdullah explained role of societal police in securing the society. He said the department works towards strengthening coordination between police and society to protect lives and properties, as well as deal with crimes. He pointed out the department plays a crucial role in reducing crime rate, indicating that the role of public or social security is more extensive than that of the Police Department as it covers all fields.
Al-Abdullah added the ‘Wathiq’ (Assurance) Project, which includes the Social Friends Program, is important as it is aimed at developing the self-confidence of students and to correct their behavior. He pointed out the project is holistic in the sense that it involves several official authorities which work together to secure the nation and its people, as well as prevent crimes. He added the project aims to improve the lives of students, tap their potentials and encourage them to engage in worthwhile activities, in coordination with the parents and teachers.
Certificates were distributed to the students towards the end of the ceremony.
