Final year students from public secondary schools achieve excellent, successful results

Egyptian scores 99.93 pc in science division

KUWAIT CITY, June 6: Efforts and perseveran­ce of the final year students in public secondary schools throughout the academic year paid off with excellent and successful results, as students in the science division attained 87.26 percent success and their counterpar­ts in the arts division obtained 82.1 percent, and the students of religious institutes attained 78.9 percent success.

The number of science students who sat for the examinatio­ns were 18,224 of which 15,903 passed, and among 14,794 who sat for the exams in the arts division 12,149 passed, while 840 passed from 1,064 students of the religious institutes.

The top student in the science division is Egyptian Mohammad Kamal Makin Sorour who scored 99.93 percent, followed by Ayah Mahmoud Shahatah with 99.86 percent, and Yousef Osama Abu Al-Fatouh came third with 99.86 percent.

In the arts division, Fajr Musaed Al-Zamel outshone others to clinch the first position with 99.61 percent, while Fatmah Essa Bahzad came second with 98.9 percent score, and Taif Duaij Al-Rukaibi attained the third position with 98.80 percent.

Fajr Musaed Al-Zamel topped Kuwaiti students in the arts division with 99.61 percent, followed by Taif Duaij Al-Rukaibi who earned 98.80 percent, and then Aisha Mohammad Khalaf Al-Fadhli in third place with 97.92 percent.

Among the Kuwaitis in the science division, Danah Ibrahim Ahmad Al-Kanderi soared above her peers with 99.53 percent, while Mohammad Abdullah Ali Al-Mulla came second with 99.52 percent, and Dalal Fahad Al-Ajmi occupied the third place with 99.48 percent.

As per results of the religious institutes, Alaa Numairi Abu Khalil Atiyyah led others with 99.89 percent, followed by Meshal Abdul-Hadi Al-Shammari who obtained 99.55 percent, and Asma Murdhi Rashid Al-Enezi 99.43 percent to claim the third spot.

Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr Bader Al-Essa delivered congratula­tory message from His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to excellent and successful students, wishing them the best of luck and success in their future endeavors.

He announced that the number of local and foreign scholarshi­ps remain unchanged. He revealed that 100 seats have been allocated in Kuwait University for Bedoun students who obtained 90 percent and above.

On the contrary, there are rumors peddling in social media lately concerning the intention of the ministry to apply co-education system in Kuwait University in the next academic year after the recent verdict delivered by the Constituti­onal Court. He reiterated the ministry had previously declared the need to study the issue when the ministry receives response from the Fatwa and Legislatio­n Department in that regard.
