Assembly votes on proposal to amend pharmacy jobs law today

Verdict in ‘Kibret 2’ case Tuesday

KUWAIT CITY, June 6: The National Assembly will vote on the proposal to amend law number 28/1996 on pharmacy profession and distributi­on of medicines in its second deliberati­on on Tuesday.

Other items in the agenda of the Assembly include the following:

■ Vote on the second deliberati­on of the proposal to amend Kuwait Municipali­ty Law number 5/2005.

n Report of the Legislativ­e and Legal Affairs Committee on the Public Prosecutio­n’s request to lift the immunity of MP Sultan Al-Shammari in a press misdemeano­r case.

■ Report of the Health and Social Affairs Committee on the amendment of Private Sector Labor Law number 6/2010.

■ Report of the Finance and Economic Affairs Committee on the Public Tenders Draft Law.

■ Report of the Legislativ­e and Legal Affairs Committee on the proposed amendment of the National Assembly’s bylaws.

■ Report of the Interior and Defense Committee on Police Force System Law number 23/1968.

■ Report of the Interior and Defense Committee on the amendment of law number 26/1962 regarding the organizati­on of prisons.

Meanwhile, Deputy National Assembly Speaker Mubarak Al-Khrainej congratula­ted all high school students for passing their exams and obtaining excellent grades as they move towards a new stage in their educationa­l journey. He hopes the Ministry of Higher Education will increase the admission percentage in Kuwait University and Public Authority for Applied Education and Training (PAAET) to accommodat­e the growing number of high school graduates. He also called for increasing the number of Bedoun students, who obtained excellent marks in high school, admitted to the university.

In a press statement, the lawmaker said, “We congratula­te students who passed the high school stage as well as their parents and their families, wishing them progress and success in the university and their scientific and practical lives for them to better serve their country and religion”.

Khurainej thanked Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr Bader Essa, undersecre­tary of the ministry, other ministry officials, and teaching staff in public and private schools for the successful academic year. He lauded them for their commitment in improving the educationa­l sector and taking care of the students.

He noted the educationa­l sector in Kuwait has witnessed great advancemen­t; thanks to the concern of HH the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, HH the Crown Prince Sheikh Anwar Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the legislatur­e and

the executive authority.

Verdict Tuesday: The Criminal Court Tuesday will issue a verdict in ‘Kibret 2’ case involving Twitter user known as “Kibret” who is standing trial alongside his brother and a lawyer, says Al-Seyassah.

All suspects were present in the previous court session, including the lawyer, subsequent to his release from custody and he pleaded not guilty to all charges leveled against him.

Representi­ng the third defendant, Lawyer Ayed Al Rashid requested to question the prosecutin­g officer.
