Traffic congestion:
Assistant Undersecretary for Traffic Affairs at the Ministry of Interior Major-General Abdullah Al-Muhanna attributed the traffic congestion last Sunday to the advent of the holy month of Ramadan and being the first day of the week, reports Al-Rai daily.
However, Al-Muhanna explained the traffic congestion on the Fifth Ring Road was due to many serious accidents.
Nonetheless, he said, the traffic police did a commendable job by organizing the traffic after moving the damaged vehicles to the side of the road.
Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khalid has issued a decision to end the services of an unidentified expatriate who is working at the General Investigations Department, reports Al-Rai daily.
The daily added the appointment of the expatriate was in violation of the law which states that that particular position is set aside only for Kuwaitis.
The decision will come into effect on June 30, 2016. It must be noted that a law was issued in 2013 which mandates the appointment of only Kuwaitis for the position of investigators.
And, Mubarak Al-Kabeer Governor General Ahmad Abdullatif Al-Rejeib on Monday met with representatives of service ministries and police officers to discuss the ongoing projects of the governorate and those lined up for implementation.
During the meeting, the governor asked the officers about the complaints submitted by the citizens and actions taken to address the problems.
He also greeted all those present and the citizens in general, on the occasion of Ramadan.
