KUWAIT CITY, July 24: Secretary General of the Government and Manpower Restructuring Project (GMRP), Fawzi Al-Majdali affirmed that the agency will continue to support the national manpower in

private sector, adding the sector did not suspend activities as speculated.

Al-Majdali disclosed that government will not rescind the decision to support Kuwaiti employees in private sector right from the time of graduation from secondary schools or Public Authority for Applied Education and Training and Kuwait University. He stressed that government will always grant monetary support in the form of social allowance, children allowance and training allowance for job seekers, employees and students during summer to promote national economic development and the contribution of indigenous hands in nation building.

Assured

He assured that social support for employees is usually remitted in banks on 25th of each month without delay. He noted the project has so far spent KD 3 billion on Kuwaitis since inception in 2011, and that payment of differences in salaries of Kuwaitis at government and private sectors is more than the original salaries paid by employers.

He indicated statistics just revealed that the project pays over 56 percent salaries of those Kuwaiti employees.

She added several beneficiaries have been called to update their file to verify if they are entitled to social support but they defied the two months grace period.

She shed light on new suspicious cases and noted segments worthy of assistant have reached 1,075 which raises doubts and questions, wondering how there will be more than nine widows in a single family. She said the scenario is repeated in more than 200 families.
