KUWAIT CITY, July 27: Capitols Speakers Toastmasters Club (CSTC) venue teemed with enthusiasm and energy on Saturday, July 23, 2016 during workshops on communication and leadership. Attended by professionals from across Kuwait, the workshops were conducted by DTM. Members improve their speaking and leadership skills by attending any of the 15,400 clubs in 135 countries.
TM Vijo K. Jose, the President of Capitol Speakers Toastmasters Club , welcomed the attendees with the statement, “It’s not what you say, but how you say it that defines you.” The President emphasized the fact that whether at work or in daily life, the way we communicate is most important as it sets the tone of the interaction. And for that we need to be equipped with the art of communicating efficiently at the workplace.

The meeting consisted of two 30-minute workshops. “The Communication at Work” workshop discussed common communication pitfalls and how to prune one’s communication skills to succeed in one’s career. The interactive workshop session led by Distinguished Toastmaster Anil R Lobo addressed both verbal and nonverbal communication techniques.
Another important topic the workshop addressed was leadership. The speaker TM Shenoy, addressed areas like team building, having a vision, developing objectives and setting goals, and leading the team to achieve them. He challenged the participants to be a deemed leader over a demanded leader.
In addition, the workshop created multiple opportunities for networking and the participants had a great learning experience. The skills discussed in the workshop can easily be embedded in their day-to-day interaction at work.
