LOS ANGELES, Aug 23, (RTRS): Turkish black comedy “Album,” about a couple who go to absurd lengths to hoodwink people into believing their adopted child is in fact their biological offspring, has won best film at the Sarajevo Film Festival.

The social satire, which is the feature debut of writer-director Mehmet Can Mertoglu, is being sold by The Match Factory. The pic made its world premiere in Critics’ Week in Cannes, where it won the France 4 Visionary Award.

The Special Jury Prize was picked up by Bulgaria’s “Godless,” Ralitza Petrova’s debut feature about a crooked, drug-addicted nurse, trading in the stolen identity papers of her patients. The film’s Irena Ivanova won best actress.
