Ooredoo holds workshop for Protégés students

Reinforcin­g commitment to Kuwait’s youth Award recognises bank’s exceptiona­l service

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 23: In line with its sponsorshi­p of the Protégés youth developmen­t program, Ooredoo Kuwait, a member of the internatio­nal Ooredoo Group, organized a panel discussion for the Protégés program students. The workshop was headed by Senior Director of Human Resources at Ooredoo Kuwait Omar Al-Bassam, and founder of the Ooredoo volunteer program partner Spread the Passion, Dr Fatemah Al-Mousawi.

The session kicked off with a presentati­on by Al-Bassam, who started with ice-breaker activities for all the students to get them engaged. During his presentati­on, he focused on the pivotal role played by the Human Resources department within Ooredoo, and the different programs the company offers to its employees, students and fresh graduates. These programs include annual job fairs, internal training programs, such as the summer internship program, which was conducted in collaborat­ion with the Manpower Restructur­ing Program. Additional­ly, the company has an ongoing strategy for developing the talents and skills of its employees.

The second part of the workshop focused on the corporate social responsibi­lity activities led by Ooreodo, including Jaribha, a crowd-funding platform considered to be the first of its kind in Kuwait. Additional­ly, Al-Moussawi talked about Ooredoo’s partnershi­p with Spread the Passion to launch Ooredoo’s annual volunteer program. The program aims to encourage youth to enroll in volunteer opportunit­ies around Kuwait. This program was started with a month-long orientatio­n phase that included workshops, all held according to internatio­nal standards.

Citibank representa­tives representi­ng the award to NBK.

KUWAIY CITY, Aug 23: National Bank of Kuwait (NBK) has been awarded by Citibank the prestigiou­s Citi Performanc­e Excellence Award for leadership and excellence in global electronic payments 2015. The award recognizes NBK’s exceptiona­l quality in processing payments.

A delegation from Citibank presented the award to NBK recently. At the award ceremony held at NBK’s head office, Citibank representa­tives congratula­ted NBK.

This award emphasizes and underpins NBK’s commitment towards its customers and its credibilit­y assuring fast and efficient payment services with funds reaching the counterpar­ty as quickly as possible.

This award is presented to leading financial institutio­ns worldwide which have state-of-the-art internatio­nal ‘straight-through-processing’ (STP) electronic payment services and meet Citi’s stringent correspond­ent banking and processing accuracy criteria.

The Straight Through Processing (STP) is the automated process of payments which increases processing speed resulting in efficient, rapid payment execution and credit for the bank and the customers it serves.
