Hajj expeditions distributed HQs
‘Arafat grounds’
KUWAIT CITY, Aug 24: The Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs distributed headquarters of Kuwaiti Hajj expeditions on Arafat grounds in Makkah, Saudi Arabia through electronic draw lots for the first time.
Deputy Chairperson of Kuwait Hajj delegation and Director of Hajj and Omrah in the ministry Roumi Al-Roumi conducted the draw lots in the presence of Deputy Secretary and Rapporteur of the Higher Committee of Hajj and Omrah Muhammad Al-Aleem.
In a statement after the draw lots, Al-Roumi pointed out “this system is part of the transparency and justice principles being applied on Hajj expeditions in Kuwait in order to avoid disputes over the allocation of headquarters in Arafat.”
He added the system gave representatives of Hajj expeditions a chance to choose suitable locations, in addition to early distribution of locations on Arafat grounds as part of the efforts exerted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to better serve the pilgrims who are visiting the holy house of Allah in Makkah to perform rituals.
He praised the cooperation of all Hajj expeditions during the draw lots, affirming the process went smoothly and without obstacles, considering it was done manually in previous years when they encountered a number of challenges.
