KUWAIT CITY, Aug 25: Officers from the Criminal Evidences Department apprehended an expatriate evading 13 years imprisonment sentence for different counts of offenses.

A statement issued by the Public Relations and Security Media Department indicated the suspect was apprehended upon directives from Assistant Undersecretary for Criminal Security Affairs at the Ministry of Interior Major General Abdulhameed Al-Awadhi after the suspect had been placed under surveillance for two days consecutively.

Apparently, the suspect tried to escape from security operatives through the rooftops of neighboring houses but they managed to arrest him. He was referred to relevant authorities.

Guilty at still work: The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior Lieutenant-General Suleiman Al-Fahd has ordered the dismissal and deportation of an Egyptian typist who was working for the ministry’s Residence Affairs Department because of his involvement in suspicious transactions, reports Al-Jarida.

According to some reports the man was completing suspicious transactions for household workers and had also rented two apartments to house runaway maids and promoting flesh trade.

It has also been proven that he had lifted a ban on a female employee working for a domestic labor office run by him in the name of a Kuwaiti sponsor after receiving KD 600 from her.

Although the decision was taken almost two weeks ago, the employee continues to work and is still running the same business although he is found guilty.

Wanted man held: A Kuwaiti citizen who is wanted by law was arrested in Sabahiya area, says Al-Seyassah.

According to security sources, Ahmadi securitymen were patrolling Sabahiya area when they noticed a man who was driving down a street speeding as soon as he noticed the patrol vehicle. Securitymen ordered him to pull over but he ignored them. Eventually, securitymen managed to stop him and they checked his documents to discover he is a Kuwaiti citizen who is wanted by law.

He was arrested and referred to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action.

Meanwhile, Ahmadi securitymen also arrested an Indian expatriate in Fintas area as he was sentenced to two-month imprisonment followed by deportation over a criminal case.

He was also referred to the concerned authorities.

In addition, a vehicle which was reported as stolen in Fahaheel Police Station was discovered and referred to that police station.
