BEC, Ernst & Young Consulting Co team up for training sessions
Bid to fight against money laundering and terrorist financing
KUWAIT CITY, Sept 28: Dedicated to its continued compliance with Kuwait and international laws and protocols, the Bahrain Exchange Company teamed up with Ernst & Young Consulting Co WLL (Waleed Abdulla Saoud Al-Osaimi & Partner) in Kuwait for training sessions aimed at the continued education of employees in line with BEC’s commitment to the fight against money laundering and terrorist financing.
The sessions were facilitated by a seasoned trainer with diverse international experience and credentials gained delivering working with reputable organizations like BEC Kuwait. The training was optimally structured to address the training needs of the various participants who found the experience engaging, empowering, and value adding. The training was attended by over 330 BEC employees and management through multiple sessions. Mathews Varghese, the General Manager of BEC noted that “It’s always important for the members of Kuwait’s AML/ATF regime to come together, with our international partners, to share information and strengthen our capacity to deter, detect and prevent money laundering and terrorist activity financing”. Tipu Sultan, Senior Manager Compliance & MLRO, added “I have always been a strong proponent of the view of ‘shared responsibility’ we have when it comes to the effectiveness of the regime in place to protect Kuwait and the integrity of Kuwait’s financial system”.
