MANAMA, Oct 23, (KUNA): Bahraini Deputy Prime Minister Jawad Al-Areedh has praised the insightful vision and wise leadership of His Highness the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, a matter that contributes to the stability of the region, especially in light of the current complicated conditions in the region.
The Kuwaiti embassy said in a press statement that AlAreedh reiterated during reception of dean of the diplomatic corps, Kuwaiti Ambassador to Bahrain Sheikh Azzam Al-Sabah, that His Highness the Amir is among the few leaders who are aware of the sensitivity and the difficulty of the next phase where Kuwait has set up a strategy to overcome them.
For his part, Ambassador Azzam said that the GCC leaders are aware of the extraordinary challenges experienced by the region and have a common vision to overcome such challenges.
Initiative
Meanwhile, an official at the Arab League said Saturday His Highness the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah AlAhmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah’s easy loans and investment in African initiative has benefited many African countries.
The initiative, announced by His Highness the Amir during the November 2013 Arab-African summit, included USD billion easy loans for the African countries over five years as well as another USD billion for investment in the African continent.
Ambassador Zaid AlSabban, Director of the Arab League Africa Department, answering a KUNA question said Kuwait Declaration of the 2013 summit included great financial contributions which have benefitted many countries in Africa.
The Arab League and African Union, he added, have been closely monitoring the implementation of the initiative with the officials in Kuwait.
“The great progress in implementing the initiative brought a great sense of relief among Arab and African foreign ministers as well as Arab League Secretary General and African commission President,” he said.
Sabban said the Arab and African sides completed preparations for the November 23 summit in Equatorial Guinea.
The summit, he added, would also witnessed the delivery of Dr Abdulrahman Al-Sumait Prize for African Development.
