Egyptian FA to hosts final round of Arab champ’ship
CAIRO, Egypt, Oct 23: A signing ceremony was held today at the headquarters of the Egyptian Football Association concerning the final tournament of the Arab Championship scheduled to take place in Egypt from July 21st till August 5th, 2017. The United Arab Football Association (UAFA) and the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) were represented respectively by UAFA chairman His Highness Prince Turki Bin Khaled and EFA president Engineer Hany Abo Rida.
The ceremony started with an opening statement from EFA president Engineer Hany Abo Rida who stressed on the strong relationship between the Arab countries especially in the sport sector. Additionally Engineer Abo Rida emphasized on the importance of the tournament and the joint effort that was put in place by UAFA, and Sela Sport the owner of the commercial rights of the United Arab Football Association.
His Highness Prince Turki Bin Khaled announced that the decision to reactivate the pan-Arab competitions was taken previously but currently the aim and the vision became greater reflecting the fast growth and development of football in the Arab World.
Subsequently His Highness announced that the choice of Egypt as the hosting country of the Arab Championship was based on the facts that Egypt has the experience, the capability and the required resources to host such a tournament.
