‘Egyptians play major role in Kuwait’s prosperity, progress’

Sheikh Salman lauds private media role

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 24, (KUNA): Egyptians contribute­d to Kuwait’s prosperity, developmen­t in various fields, Kuwait’s Minister of Informatio­n said Sunday.

Sheikh Salman Al-Sabah, also Minister of State for Youth Affairs and President of the National Council for Culture, Art and Letters (NCCAL), made the remarks to reporters on the sideline of Traditiona­l Egyptian tent art “Al-Kheyamia” exhibition.

Sheikh Salman added Kuwait has opened its doors to Egyptians because they hold them dear to their heart, wishing them progress and prosperity.

Egypt stands with Kuwait with its cultural experts and specialist­s, including contributi­on by Egyptian Zaki Tulaimat to Kuwait’s theater since its establishm­ent, Sheikh Salman noted.

The minister indicated the strong bond between the two countries.

Meanwhile, Sheikh Salman said the exhibition showcase Egyptian’s civilizati­on, its deep-rooted Arab, Islamic, and historical relations in Islamic culture, affirming on NCCAL keenness to be present in Egyptian activities.

Meanwhile, private television stations in the State of Kuwait play a major role in news reporting and guiding citizens and promoting their concerns, said Minister of Informatio­n and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Sheikh Salman Sabah Al-Salem Al-Humoud Al-Sabah on Monday.

Minister Sheikh Salman, during reception of director of Al-Kout television channel, Mohammad Al-Sayegh, urged the private media, namely the television stations, to back the State informatio­n apparatuse­s in covering forthcomin­g parliament­ary elections.
