Named after Amir:
The fifth session of the 2016 Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) humanitarian award will be christened after His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, a Bahraini official said on Tuesday.
In a meeting with Kuwait’s Ambassador to Bahrain Sheikh Azzam Al-Sabah, Chairman of the Regional Network for Corporate Social Responsibility (RNSR) Dr. Yousef Abdulghaffar said that the decision to name the award after His Highness the Amir is a gesture of appreciation for his humanitarian endeavors.
Moreover, he revealed that RNSR has awarded Kuwait’s First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad AlSabah with the prize for his support of humanitarian efforts across the globe.
On the prize, he said an award ceremony will be held in the Kingdom on November 30th, adding that past recipients of the award include some of the Gulf region’s most influential people. The award will also be given to Bahrain’s Deputy Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammad bin Mubarak Al-Khalifa and his Qatari counterpart Ahmad bin Abdullah Al-Mahmoud.
Formed in 2007, RNSR is run by a group of notable Gulf personalities, all of whom are devoted to social service and humanitarian deeds.
The network doles out an annual award to those with exemplary humanitarian and philanthropic achievements. (KUNA)
