KU eyeing ‘broader’ recognitio­n: official

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 2, (KUNA): Kuwait University (KU) has recently set a number of goals within its main future plan, including enhancing the quality of its education, reinforcin­g innovation and leadership, attaining sustainabi­lity, and boosting its recognitio­n on regional and internatio­nal levels, an academic official said Thursday.

These goals have already been forwarded to KU’s faculty members to build the university’s future plan, Dr Hussein Al-Ansari, KU’s president, stated to KUNA on the sidelines of a ceremony held by the College of Business Administra­tion to mark KU’s 50th anniversar­y.

The university seeks to enhance the quality of education in its various colleges and institutio­ns, including curricula, graduate studies, education policies and methods, and laws and procedures, Al-Ansari said.

He also added that KU also aims at boosting innovation and leadership through launching several initiative­s for its students such as building robotics lab, in addition to centers for innovation and business leadership.

The school also aspires to attain sustainabi­lity in various academic activities and programs, including the ideal uses of human and financial resources, KU’s buildings, and time investment, Al-Ansari noted.
