Zakat House is executing many humanitari­an projects overseas

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 3: Zakat House has affirmed its persistent aspiration to promote Kuwait’s radiant image and its humanitari­an role in the philanthro­pic field in Islamic societies by executing many humanitari­an projects overseas, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

In a press statement, Director of Overseas Activities in Kuwait Zakat House Adel Al-Jerri said part of the activities of the Zakat House is aimed at serving Muslims outside the country based on requests from donors for supporting various overseas projects through organizati­ons and Zakat House’s foreign offices in coordinati­on with the Kuwaiti embassies.

He indicated that Zakat House seeks to enhance relations between the Kuwaiti people and people of other nations through various developmen­tal projects.

Al-Jerri explained that the Zakat House accomplish­ed a lot outside Kuwait from August 2016 to October 2016. Their achievemen­ts include the execution of 41 constructi­on projects in 17 countries, which cost KD 555,242 in total. It supported 28,352 orphans in 38 countries for which KD 1,293,480 was spent. The cost of the students’ aid project is estimated to reach KD 162,930.

It also sponsored 2,187 students in 12 countries. It supported and assisted 22 countries at a cost of KD 2,273,189.

He indicated that the number of sacrifices

distribute­d by the Zakat House as part of the sacrifice project during Eid alAdha reached 6,488 in 35 countries at a cost of about KD 414,598.

Al-Jerri expressed his appreciati­on and gratitude to every donor in the country for their generosity and their support of the Zakat House.
