KUWAIT CITY, Dec 3: The Public Prosecutor General Judge Dherar Al-Asousi has issued a decision to arrest the CEO of TMAS company few days after the Detention Renewal Judge had released him on bail worth KD 5,000, reports Aljarida daily.

Preliminary investigations were conducted after complaints were submitted at the Public Prosecution by Lawyer Fayez Al-Faisan on behalf of shareholders against T-MAS Company. The Public Prosecution then decided to detain the CEO of the company for further investigations.

Investigations were carried out with the CEO and 13 other employees of the company. Out of these 13 employees who underwent investigations, 12 were already in detention over a criminal case No. 993/2016 issued against them for money laundering. The case was filed by the Money Laundering Unit against the management of the company.

MoD dept refutes claims: The Moral Guidance Department in the Ministry of Defense has refuted a lawmaker’s allegation that his relative was arrested for displaying his picture during elections.

In its statement, the department explained the relative of the lawmaker is a military personnel who was referred for investigation as per the military regulations which prohibit military officers from engaging in political activities, contrary to the lawmaker’s claim.

The department pointed out the military institution is not allowed to be involved or handle political matters. It then urged the public and media to always verify news before publication to maintain credibility, indicating the military institution has an open-door policy in responding to queries and it is ready to provide explanations if needed.
