Couple injured in fight, file case against each other

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 3: An Asian driver was found dead in his car in Dasma area possibly because he was struck by lightning while using his mobile phone. His body has been referred to the Forensics Department for autopsy, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

According to security sources, when the Operations Room of Ministry of Interior received information about a dead Asian man inside a car in Dasma area, securitymen and paramedics rushed to the location and found the corpse. They checked his details to discover he is an Indian expatriate.

Preliminary investigations indicate the probability that he might have been struck by lightning when he used his mobile phone. His body has been referred to the Forensics Department for investigations on the exact cause of his death. A case has been registered.

Egyptian deceives Syrian: An elderly Syrian expatriate was deceived by an Egyptian expatriate who assured the victim through an online advertisement to carry out all Omrah arrangements to the sacred land for him at a cost of KD 150. However, after receiving the money, the Egyptian disappeared and switched off his mobile phone, reports Al Rai daily.

When he realized he was deceived, the victim was very disappointed as he was looking forward to visiting Kaaba.

He filed a case at Nugra Police Station, explaining to securitymen that he was browsing through the Internet when he came across an Omrah advertisement for the coming days in line with the birthday of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). He quickly called the number and spoke with someone who had an Egyptian accent. The latter told him that the pilgrimage was for three days and he could enjoy all the facilities at ease for only KD 150 inclusive of air ticket and hotel accommodation. The Egyptian then came to his apartment to collect the money but did the disappearing act afterwards.

Investigations have been launched to find and arrest the fraudster.

Couple injured in fight: A couple turned their bedroom into a boxing ring following an argument between them after the wife meddled in the private life of her husband. Both parties sustained injuries due to the fight, reports Al-Rai daily.

Reportedly, a Kuwaiti citizen and his Iraqi wife went separately to Hawally Police Station to file a case against the other. They both presented medical reports to indicate the injuries they sustained.

Preliminary investigations carried out by securitymen revealed that the argument aggravated into a fight when the husband beat his wife after she went through his mobile phone and violated his privacy. The wife fought back, resulting in an exchange of blows between them.

A case was registered against the couple.
