Melbandhan marks new milestone
Melbandhan achieves yet another milestone. The eighth volume of Melbandhan has been officially published in Kuwait. On the eve of this publication, Melbandhan Cultural Group hosted a socio cultural evening at the Indian Embassy auditorium of Kuwait on Nov 17, 2016. The event was graced by the valuable presence of S.M. Abul Kalam, His Excellency Ambassador of Bangladesh, Subhashis Golder, the Deputy Chief in Mission of Indian Embassy, Shahid Islam, the Managing Director of Marafie Kuwaitia and Director of Morning Glory Bangladesh International School and other dignitaries and distinguished guests. Abul Kalam and Subhashis Golder thanked Melbandhan and highly appreciated its effort.
Mrs Rina Deb, the president of Melbandhan described the social welfare activities of Melbandhan Trust in her brief speech and thanked the audience for its precious and persistent support. Dr Ashok Deb, the chief editor of Melbandhan narrated the history, evolution and objects of Melbandhan in his speech. He described how Melbandhan, an annual magazine of Bengali literature contributed by the Bengali writers from all around the world has been persistently acting to strengthen the tie between India and Bangladesh.
An eminent singer, lyricist, musician and music director from Kolkata, Saikat Chattopadhyay mesmerized the audience by his unique combination of songs, guitar and harmonica.
Silvia Mor, a famous Spanish lady dancer set the stage on fire by her power packed but graceful presentation of orthodox and contemporary Flamenco Dances.
Satish Kumar and Mrs Ritu Nath anchored the event.
The child participants of Rhythm Dance Group and kids from Morning Glory Bangladesh International School enchanted the spectators by their beautiful dance performances.
