Forged passports for Asians in travel ban seized; one held

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 14: Personnel from the Customs department in cooperatio­n with the police have arrested a Bangladesh­i for attempting to smuggle into the country six forged passports, reports Al-Shahed daily.

During interrogat­ion he admitted that he planned to sell these documents to Bangladesh­is wanted by law in Kuwait and carry a travel ban.

Rape bid thwarted: Securityme­n are looking for an unidentifi­ed person for kidnapping an Ethiopian woman, attempting to rape her and tearing her clothes, reports Al-Anba daily.

This happened when the 26-year-old victim sought the help of the suspect to take her to the Fintas Police Station.

The suspect reportedly offered to take her to the police station and instead drove her to a desert area and tried to rape her and when the victim fought him back he tore her clothes and left her semi-naked in an open area.

A case of kidnapping and attempted rape has been filed at the police station.

Porn stuff seized: Director of the Jahra Security Directorat­e MajorGener­al Ali Mahdi has issued an order to refer a 40-year-old Kuwaiti to the Criminal Investigat­ions Department for possessing and ‘distributi­ng’ porno material to customers, reports Al-Rai daily.

During initial investigat­ions police discovered the banned contraband was smuggled into the country from an unidentifi­ed European country. The man was arrested at a checkpoint in Rahiya.

Indian arrested: Personnel from the Sharq Police Station have arrested a 50-year-old Indian following a case filed against him by his sponsor, reports Al-Shahed daily.

The suspect has been referred to Police Station of the area.

Meanwhile, the Doha customs officers have foiled an attempt to smuggle large quantities of foodstuffs into the country, reports AlShahed daily.

The daily added, the foodstuff came from Iran and the bill of lading mentioned the foodstuffs as animal fodder. Wanted Pakistani held: Personnel from the Airport Security Department have arrested a Pakistani who was wanted by law and had been sentenced in absentia in connection with fraud and swindling in a case filed against him by his boss, reports Al-Shahed daily.

The Pakistani was picked up upon arrival at the Kuwait Internatio­nal Airport. He was in transit from a GCC country.

The suspect has been referred to the concerned authoritie­s.

Two sons abducted: A Kuwaiti woman has filed a complaint with the Maidan Hawally Police Station accusing her ex-husband of kidnapping her two sons, reports Al-Anba daily.

The complainan­t who lives in Hitteen said her ex-husband lives in Qortuba and accused the man of kidnapping her two sons when she was not at home.

Absconders caught: The Jahra police recently raided the home of a bedoun who was wanted by law and had been sentenced in absentia for five years in prison has been arrested and referred to the concerned authoritie­s, reports a local Arabic daily.

In another, unrelated incident, personnel from the Ahmadi Security Department have arrested a Kuwaiti who had been sentenced in absentia to seven years imprisonme­nt. The suspect was arrested in Fahaheel.

Farm set on fire: Police have arrested an unidentifi­ed Kuwaiti for setting fire to the farm of a Kuwait in Abdali, reports Al-Shahed daily.

The man was arrested red-handed by the Al-Qashaniyah police. At the time of arrest the arsonist was under the influence of alcohol.

Police have also seized from him a bottle of imported booze.

The motive for setting the fire to the farm is still unclear.

19 cash frauds:

The Khaitan Police have referred a Kuwaiti who had been sentenced in absentia in connection with 19 fraud cases worth KD 800,000 to the concerned authoritie­s, reports Al-Shahed daily.

He was also taken to the General Department for Drugs Control because at the time of arrest he was in possession of drugs.

Customer beaten: An Egyptian has filed a complaint with a Police Station accusing a Syrian butcher of assaulting him and causing injury, reports Al-Anba daily. The victim said he was beaten because he complained about the quality of meat. The victim has been admitted to the Mubarak Al-Kabir Hospital.
