ABK concludes its 5th annual football tournament

Al Ahli Bank of Kuwait (ABK) today announced the conclusion of the 5th annual football tournament, which was held at ‘The Corner’ soccer field in Kuwait City, opposite Kuwait Towers.
The exciting day-long event took place on Dec 6, 2016, from 4 pm until 9 pm. A total of 32 teams participated in the tournament which was open to ABK and non-ABK customers with teams consisting of five players and one substitute player.
The ABK football tournament is part of ABK’s annual social program which aims to engage with the public by encouraging sport and a healthy lifestyle.
The tournament, which was launched in 2011 has grown substantially in popularity year on year and this year attracted a wide range of teams and supporters.
Fawzy Al Thunayan, General Manager, Board Affairs at ABK alongside Ali Al Baghli, Corporate Communications Senior Manager, were present on the day to present winning teams with their prizes. ‘Team 7’ consisting of players Khaled Al Fadala, Majed Al Enezi , Ahmed Zakareya, Essam Mohammed, Samer Abu Baqer & Tareq Wardani won first place with each team member receiving KD 150, while second place was taken by ‘Team 23’ consisting of players Fawzy Abdulla, Alaa Mahmoud, Ahmed Mohammed, Saad Zaghlool, Mohammed Shehata & Lutfi Abu Baqer, each receiving KD 100 per player. the tide in their favor in the final game, but World Class won’t be denied even as the Thunders closed out with a 784745 win in the last game of the match.
In similar fashion, the architectural designers of DMDA Bowleros have to overcome a slow start before turning back Cozmo Salmiya 3124-3022. Headed by Maricar Ruben, Dexter Nebres, Cris Batucan and Arnold Mendoza, Rock N Bowl dominated their rivals in the first game of the encounter in posting their easy 756-673 victory to take the early lead.
