World Class, DMDA, Strikers X beat rivals

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 14: Three weeks into the double round robin eliminatio­n round of the on-going 20162017 2nd FTBK-Robinsons Tenpin Bowling Team Tournament being held at the Cozmo Entertainm­ent Center bowling lanes in Salmiya.

The pump specialist­s of NLB Corporatio­n grabbed the tournament leadership after bowling like a house on fire en-route to an eye popping winning performanc­e over Siete Pares 2.

Moving into contention after decisively thumping their respective rivals in this event sponsored by Robinsons and organized by the Filipino Tenpin Bowlers Kuwait were the World Class keglers, the architectu­ral designers of DMDA Bowleros, Strikers X and D’ Islanders.

For the third consecutiv­e week, the NLB Corporatio­n pin busters emerged victorious after their sweeping win over the off form Siete Pares 2 pin crackers. With their confidence level still relatively high, the pump masters of NLB Corporatio­n did not give their beleaguere­d opponents any leeway in the entire match as they book four straight impressive victories en-route to a clear cut record breaking 3497-3077 total pin falls win. Sharing the scoring chores for NLB Corporatio­n in their 740-750, 862815, 943-757 and 927-755 game victories were Cris Bulacja, Rudy Zablan, Nelson De Leon, Bernabe Alfaro, Ric Marimla and Sarel Pascual.

The decisive victory which handed NLB the leader board supremacy also earned them the week high series plum. Suiting up for the Siete Pares 2 who will have their hands full in their upcoming matches to make up for the loss were Lito Igot, Edwin De Mesa, Alex Nodalo and Dorcas Sansone.

Meanwhile, the hard hitting keglers of World Class outlasted the K2E2 Thunders in a high scoring duel in booking a nail biting 3208-3175 win. The evenly match teams which bowled toe to toe traded strikes and spares in the closely contested first two games that K2E2 eventually won via 843-794 and 843-809 scores courtesy of Edwin latoja, Danny San Juan, Newell Sioxch Lee Mills and Kim Alinea. Going to the pivotal third game with K2E2 ahead by eight marks after two games 1686-1603.

World Class returned to the lanes like a fully charged battery and through the power pin busting performanc­e of Ted Ashley, Bill Stiles, Anastasius Menezes and Jason Baker was able to snatched the driver’s seat from their nemesis via an 835-705 victory in game three. The K2E2 Thunders tried their best to turn DMDA finally wrest the upper hand and then went on to collect their third victory in as many outing with an 837698 rout of Cozmo Salmiya in game four.

On the other hand, Strikers X turned the tables on Siete Pares 1 after grounding the defending champion 31272953. After Strikers X took the lead with a 779-682 decision in the opening game of the 4-game series match, Siete Pares 1 with Faie Reyel, Egay cabildo, Manny Nazaire and Jazel Pangilinan in the roster came back in the next game with an 805-756 victory of their own to cut the deficit to just over four marks. Spearheade­d by JR sabado, Jowie Concepcion, Ronald Ferolino and Vicky Navarro, Strikers X secured the outcome of the match as they clobbered Siete Pares 1 in the next two games 813-725 and 779-741. In the remaining match up of the week, D’ Islanders bannered by Bobby Carambas, Aga Cuadrazal, Rolly David, Edgar Pascua and Pilar Patula relied on their 793-672 and 781-717 victories in games one and four to eke out a close 3034-3006 win over Rock N Bowl headed by Liza Catapia, Romy Fermil, Tariq Sairat, Romy Daus, Norie Sairat and Rod LLait.

For the Individual and Team High scores the current record holders are as follows: Individual High Game Men Group 1-Aga Cuadrazal 279, Men Group 2-Anastasius Menezes 244, Ladies Division-Liza Catapia 233; High Average Men Group 1-Cris Bulacja 197, Men Group 2-Anastasius Menezes 187, Ladies Division-Elvie Sotio 184; Team High Game- NLB Corporatio­n 853 and Team High Series- NLB Corporatio­n 3347.
