Kuwait conducts water rationalization program

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 29: Kuwait Water Association and Arab Institute for Planning (Kuwait) organized a training program for 70 employees and engineers in various ministries and institutions. The program was aimed at raising awareness on efforts exerted to rationalize water consumption, develop the abilities of employees in concerned establishments, and encourage meetings in this regard.
The five-day training program was held at the Arab Institute for Planning from Dec 25-29, 2016. It tackled several issues such as the water sector and sustainable development, water crisis, communication skills and effectiveness of water guidance, water resources in Kuwait and Arab region, how these resources are managed, planning basics for water guidance and guidance plans on national and Arab levels, and water management from Islamic perspective.
Director of Arab Institute for Planning Dr Badar Malallah and Chairperson of Kuwait Water Association Dr Saleh Al-Muzeini officially opened the program; while the training sessions were conducted by a regional expert in this aspect, Eng Ahmad Al-Kofahi, together with a team of experts from the Ministry of Electricity and Water.
More than 50 percent of participants in the program were women, including employees of the Ministry of Electricity and Water, Environment Public Authority, Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor, Information Ministry, Education Ministry, teachers, Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences, State Ministry of Youth Affairs, cooperative societies, charitable organizations, private sector and Sultanate of Oman.
