Cajucom, Al-Mutawah top ‘Swing/CQB’ scenario

Isidro and Al-Ansari settle for second place

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 29: FAST-Kuwait team closed the year with a big bang and the last fun-shoot was no different as they have competed with the ‘CAT’s CLAW’ shooting buddies as FAST Sec. Archie Cajucom captured another win with an outstandin­g performanc­e in the Standard Division alongside Waleed Al-Mutawah who outdid everyone even with a penalty earned for the Profession­al Category.

‘Swing/CQB’ is another scenario contribute­d and designed by Veteran Shooter Lambert Bernardo along with the CAT’s CLAW shooting club with Range Officer Wilbert Zingapanto to observe the safety positions of the targets and ensure the safety of everyone taking part in the competitio­n.

The scenario was laid out with almost all the targets easy to shoot in close range but with several no shoots and heavily covered by barricades and a swinging target, hence for the ‘Swing/CQB’ scenario.

The shooter could elect to shoot at a distance of 3 feet or anywhere within the charge line, they could shoot while on the move or stand still position as long as they do not step out of the charge lines.

Rasheed Al Twalah captured 6th place this time, even though he collected 19 Alpha and 1 Charlie which was almost a perfect ace performanc­e, he took the time to engage on his targets and finished the course in 33.42 as he ended up with 2.9324 hit factors.

Hamad Al Kandari completed the ‘Magnificen­t 7’ line-up and he had recorded the fastest time for the standard division as he finished the course under 23.10 seconds and collected 12 Alpha, 5 Charlie, 2 Delta and 1 Mike for 2.9004 hit factors.

Although the several shooters did not make it to the ‘Magnificen­t 7’ lineup where the boys are separated with the men, the following shooters are placed accordingl­y as Abdurehman Ahmad had a good run but unable to secure a spot on top as he finished the course in 25.09 and collected 12 Alpha, 6 Charlie, 2 Delta and 1 Mike for 2.7900 hit factors.

Muath Al Assaf is another shooter who fell short of the race as he almost hit a perfect ace tonight but missed slightly on one target as he finished the course in 36.85 seconds and collected 19 Alpha and 1 Charlie for 2.6594 hit factors.

Fahad Adnan is on 10th place and the 3rd shooter to have a perfect ace under 39.26 seconds that gave him 2.5471 hit factors and Fawaz Al Anizi had a great time and scored 2.3482 hit factors under 40.03 seconds after collecting 17 Alpha and 3 Charlie.

Both shooters took on another run and Fahad Adnan scored 2.1519 for a perfect ace under 46.47 seconds while Al Anizi scored 2.7055 hit factors under 29.20 seconds wherein he collected 16 Alpha, 1 Bravo, 2 Charlie and 1 Mike.

FAST Kuwait joined by CAT’s CLAW in tonight’s fun-shoot and even they did not take any place on the Magnificen­t 7 line up, they still showed that they can shoot and lead by JR Sabado who clocked in 34.98 seconds and collected 14 Alpha, 5 Charlie, 1 Delta and even with 1 no-shoot penalty, he still managed to score 2.1727 hit factors.

Saleh Al Sharhan scored 2.0913 hit factors when he finished the course in 28.69 seconds as he collected 18 Alpha and even with 2 Mikes and 1 procedural error for hitting the barricade. On his 2nd run, he managed to collect 16 Alpha, 3 Charlie and 1 Mike under 32.67 seconds and scored 2.4181 hit factors.

Mario Adonis from Cat’s Claw group finished the course in 38.49 seconds and collected 13 Alpha, 4 Charlie, 2 Delta and 1 Mike that gave him 1.7927 hit factors.

Dave Rotap had 1.6766 hit factors as he put speed first as he finished the course in 26.84 seconds but sacrifice his accuracy as he collected 14 Alpha, 5 Charlie with 1 Mike and 3 No-Shoots.

Arthur Pepito took the time and ensured that he hits the targets well which he did in 67.26 seconds for a perfect shoot performanc­e as he collects 13 Alpha, 6 Charlie and 1 Delta that gave him 1.2489 hit factors.

Edison Montano also took the time for his aim when he finished the course in 59.65 seconds and collected 11 Alpha, 7 Charlie, 1 Delta and 1 Mike for 1.1232 hit factors.

Veteran Shooter Lambert Bernardo had a misshaped when he dropped the magazine loaded with 4 bullets that gave him an automatic 4 Mikes and 2 Procedural for not engaging two targets but with 14 Alpha, 1 Bravo and 1 Charlie under 28.73 seconds, he still managed to land on a position score of 0.8398 hit factors.

While 3 members of the Cat’s Claw group did not make it to the positive line as Bong Estrada and Felix Misa are both disqualifi­ed for gun handling safety issues and Ermilio Cupido had finished the course in 77.68 seconds with 3 Alpha, 4 Charlie, 8 Delta and 5 Mikes that gave a negative score.

With the above scores Cajucom, Isidro and Al Shatti still managed to hold their spots with Al Qattan, Abubakar and Al Twalah moved up to the bill while Al Kandiri joined the magnificen­t 7 line-

Perron deflected Colton Parayko’s shot to tie it 5:53 into the third, less than two minutes after Schenn had given the Flyers a 3-2 lead. Perron ran his goal-scoring streak to three games.

Upshall put the Blues ahead 80 seconds later with a deflection of Joel Edmundson’s shot. It was his first goal in 18 games.

In Pittsburgh, Carl Hagelin scored with 4:15 remaining and Pittsburgh rallied to beat Carolina.

Hagelin got his fifth of the season and second in two games off a feed from Patric Hornqvist. That followed a tying goal from Chris Kunitz early in the period.

Sidney Crosby scored his leaguelead­ing 26th goal in his 31st game and moved into a tie with Edmonton’s Connor McDavid for the league scoring lead at 42 points. Crosby, who missed six games with a concussion at the start of the season, trailed McDavid by nine points when he made his first start Oct. 25 against Florida.

The Penguins have won

Omar Al Ansari was unseated this time and settled for 2nd place with his another perfect shoot performanc­e but unable to beat the time with his 21.62 seconds. He collected 16 Alpha, 3 Charlie and 1 Delta for 4.1628 hit factors.

straight and four of five. They have points in 10 consecutiv­e home games and are 11-1-2 in December.

Matt Murray started for Pittsburgh and stopped 25 of 27 shots before Marc-Andre Fleury replaced him for the start of the third period. Fleury made 19 saves for his 11th win.

Mohammed Al Sadoon completed the ‘Tough 3’ line-up with his perfect shoot performanc­e under 20.79 seconds and collected 13 Alpha and 7 Charlie for 4.1366 hit factors.

Tamer Al Mutariat came in close at 4th place with his perfect shoot performanc­e for 13 Alpha, 6 Charlie and 1 Delta under 22.56 seconds for 3.7234 hit factors.

Last but not the least, Willie Santos was placed 5th tonight as he collected a perfect shoot performanc­e with 16 Alpha, 1 Bravo, 2 Charlie and 1 Mike for 3.6439 hit factors.

With the above result, Al Ansari and Al Sadoon holds steady on their spots with Al Mutariat and Santos joining as Al Mutawah is back on top of his game.

Meanwhile, FAST officials had

Lee Stempniak scored his seventh goal and Elias Lindholm his third for the Hurricanes, who ended a threegame winning streak. Cam Ward stopped 23 shots for Carolina.

In Sunrise, Florida, Mitchell Marner announced that all newcomers and members wishing to participat­e in the weekly shoots should come to the range ahead of time for a ‘dry run’ over the course.

The aim of this dry run is to ensure the newcomers safety as well as that of all those present at the range. Those newcomers who fail to turn up for this dry run will not be allowed to take part in the actual competitio­n.

On the other hand, FAST officials would like to invite everyone on Tuesday evenings to the weekly fun-shoot competitio­ns at 1800 hours.

The United States (2-0-0) tied Canada for the Group B lead. The Americans opened with a 6-1 victory over Latvia on Monday night. They will face Russia on Thursday, and complete pool play Saturday against Canada.

Martin Fehervary and Michal Roman scored for Slovakia (0-2-0), and Matej Tomek made 45 saves.

In Montreal, Minnesota Wild prospect Joel Eriksson-Ek broke a tie with 5:08 left with his second goal of the game and Sweden beat Switzerlan­d 4-2. Lias Andersson and Lucas Carlsson also scored to help Sweden improve to 2-0-0 and take the Group A lead.

Carl Grundstrom set up the go-ahead goal, recovering the puck behind the Swiss net and sliding a backhand pass to Eriksson-Ek. Carlsson completed the scoring on a slap shot with 2:49 to go.
