KU Secretary-General orders officials to declare their financial assets
Declaration should be done within the deadline
KUWAIT CITY, Dec 30: Secretariat General of Kuwait University ordered its officials to declare their financial assets as per the law, reports Al-Qabas daily.
A circular was sent to all workstations on Dec 27, which stressed the need for the university’s president, secretary general, assistant secretariats, deputy president and assistant deputies, college deans, director of construction program, department directors and those in their capacity to declare their assets.
It indicated that the declaration should be done within the deadline based on the executive regulations specified in the Amiri Decree No. 2/2016 issued on Jan 24, 2016 which was related to the establishment of Kuwait Anti-Corruption Authority, and its regulations concerning declaration of wealth.
The circular also demanded the inclusion of those who had occupied the abovementioned positions, and have resigned, retired, transferred service or ended their service, regardless of the time they spent in that position and their responsibilities.
The Secretariat General of Kuwait University urged the concerned officials to attend an edification workshop which will be held at the headquarters of the Kuwait Anti-Corruption Authority in January 2017.
