NCCAL opens future generations’ festivals
Assistant Secretary General of the National Council for Culture, Letters and Arts (NCCAL) Mohammad Al-Ass’ousi said Sunday the future generations’ festival became a landmark event in the efforts to promote cultural education of the young.
Speaking to KUNA during the opening ceremony of the 28th edition of festival, Al-Ass’ousi said the continuation of the annual chain of the event over almost three decades testifies to its success and popularity.
The festival is being held under auspices of Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs and Acting Minister of Information Sheikh Mohammad Al-Abdullah Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah, who doubles as NCCAL President, at AbdulHussein

“NCCAL spares no effort in promoting the cultural education of the young generation through various activities in collaboration with other government and non-government organizations,” he stressed.
NCCAL believes in the essential role of cooperation with the Ministry of Education in working out cultural programs geared to children, he added.
Al-Ass’ousi thanked Sheikh Mohammad for his kind patronage of the festival lasts until March 23.
During the opening ceremony, a musical play titled “Laila Wa Theb” were performed by young members of the Backstage Group.
The play was prepared and produced by artiste Mahboub Mohammad Al-Hamly with contributions from a number of artistes such as Abdullah Al-Khader, Noura and many others.
The musical play aimed at shedding light on the importance of reading in enlightening children, as it has great impact on human behavior and helps in eradicating negative traits such as violence.
The play was rewritten in a new befitting youthful perspective to guide youths towards becoming a rational generation that is capable of confronting changes. (KUNA)
