IBAK to hold 3rd Inter Club ‘Badminton Championship’

KUWAIT CITY, March 20: The Indian Badminton Association Kuwait (IBAK) announces the third Inter Club Badminton Championship which will be held on March 23 and 24, 2017 at the IBAK Gym, Salwa.

Vying for the crown are eight titan teams – the IBAK Chargers, IBCK, IBAK Gladiators, Kerala Badminton Association Kuwait, IBAK Vikings, Abbasiya, Tuskers, Crossfire Mangaf and the Bhavans Badminton Club.

The tournament will be played in round robin cum knockout format. Each tie team event format will comprise of 5 matches — two Open Men’s doubles, one Men’s Advanced doubles, one Mixed doubles, one Men’s above 40 doubles.

The matches will begin at 7:00 pm.

IBAK Charges will be represented by Ilayaraja, Aneef, Elbin, Dr Mani, Bader, Subin, Sanil, Subin Joy, Niyathi and Adnan.

Abassiya Tuskers comprise of Sanju Mathew, Anish Philip, Binoy Cheruvathur, Jithesh Jith, Jino Joy, Antony Jacob, Saji Papachan, Aju Thomas and Nivedhita.

The IBAK will have Mohammed Nurrohim, Mohammed Naser, Mohammed Elkhayat, Dadang Rudiano, Suresh Ramachandran, Anto Santiko, Lyang Sumara, Karjan and Nikka.

The IBAK Gladiators comprise of Sarin, Jerosh, Yashin, Bibin, Chandra, Faheem, Vikas, Arif, Shaina and Sayooj; Bhavans Badminton club will have Don Francis, Sanoj Kumar, Manas Manoj, Sajeev Punnakkal, Anai Kumar, Ajoy Felix, George John, Sajith Ramachandran and Sirisha.

The KBA will field Friedy, Anto, Shahoor, James, Prakash, Sunil, Abin, Philip, Abin, Juvy; IBAK Vikings will have Sanal, Alen, Stephen, Mohan, Relin, Kishore, Rafeeq, Prasanth, Valli and Sam Jonathan; the Crossfire Mangaf Badminton Club will have Bastain James, Jiju John, Pradeepan, Jithin, Jayaraj, Sayju, Liju, Satheesh, Jabbar Farooqi and Gwen.
