KUWAIT CITY, March 26, (KUNA): Kuwait will host the 17th GCC Handicapped Forum under the slogan “Psychological and Social Stability of Persons with Disabilities” between March 28-30.

Arab and GCC delegations including specialists in the fields of people with special needs will participate in the three-day event which will be patronized by Kuwaiti Minister of Social Affairs and Labour and Minister of State for Economic Affairs Hind Al-Subaih.

The discussions will be topped by puberty and adolescence of persons with disabilities and their marriage and rehabilitation to fully intergrate in their society.

The forum also aims to discuss outstanding experiences in the field of rehabilitation of persons with disabilities in the GCC countries through a number of lectures and specialized workshops to be presented by specialists.

Kuwait is one of the leading countries in the field of service, care and rehabilitation of people with special needs. Actually, Kuwait has been highly concerned with the dis-

abled, issuing Law 8/2010 that guarantees them full civilian and political rights, as well as education, health and social services, to merge them in the society.

It is the first Arab country to have

enacted a law for the disabled.

The Disabled Persons Law 8/2010 is the product of hard work and concerted efforts of many agencies to serve people with special needs.
