‘Take steps to pre-empt radicals’

‘Sleeper cells could pose threat’

“HERE I would like to emphasize that we certainly condemn all types of terrorism and also condemn the murder of the innocent people who fall prey to terrorism just because they happen to be at the wrong place at the wrong time,” columnist, General Manager of Scope Satellite TV Channel and former MP Talal Al-Saeed wrote for Al-Seyassah daily Sunday.

“It is needless to say that the murder of the innocent people is an unforgivable crime.

“However, terrorism struck the heart of the British capital, London near the House of Commons. But the question here is: Why the British government did not warn the citizens against this terrorist crime before the plot was actually implemented?

“And why the concerned British authorities did not take necessary measures to tighten the security before this British citizen carried out the attack?

“However, irrespective of the race, religion or belonging the fact is the perpetrator is certainly British whether this fact satisfies the British government or not, because he is British as long as he is holding the British nationality.

“Actually here we recall that the British government always warns its citizens travelling to the Gulf region and urge them to be vigilant at all times and issues travel advisories.

“In spite of the above, terrorism hit the heart of the British capital, London, but this time the terrorist operation was carried out by a lone British wolf.

“Now we wonder if all the people in light of London terrorist operation realize that terrorism has no specific nationality or homeland. In the meantime, we would like to say that when travel advisories are issued for their respective citizens it actually sets in panic in the hearts of these people and nothing else because nobody knows where the terrorists will actually strike.

“Recently the target was the center of London who knows where the next operation will be?

“Such being the case, we suggest the West must hasten truly to cooperate with the world to surmount terrorism everywhere and keep in mind that resorting to warn only their citizens against the perils of terrorism is no longer feasible, because they must realize that terrorism has reached their very homelands.

“By the way, we say what occurred recently in London can be also attributed to unstudied and random policy that has been followed by the consecutive British governments in terms of naturalizing the migrants.

“In this connection, we elucidate that the naturalized British citizen who carried out this terrorist act in London has nothing to lose as a result. In other words, neither London nor Great Britain is the homeland of his forefathers so as to be keen for protecting his image.

“It is obvious this naturalized British citizen was loyal to many other countries although he lived in Great Britain held its nationality and enjoyed a better standard of living, better than that of his original homeland.

“In this connection, we say this man actually abandoned his original homeland for better standard of living in Britain. But unfortunately, he decided to punish the country which embraced him and gave him the nationality.

“Given the above, we infer that it looks like Britain has a lot of naturalized people who are holding British nationality but do not profess their allegiance to this country, rather they are waiting for a signal from some foreign parties to carry out their criminal schemes.

“In conclusion, we wonder if we in Kuwait can learn the lesson. I hope so.”

Also:

“Certainly, we denounce terrorism everywhere in the world and look forward to see all Arab countries concerting their efforts to fight this menace

and its supporters,” columnist Fakhry Hashim AlSayed Rajab wrote for Al-Kuwaitiah daily Sunday.

“Everyone is aware that the Islamic State (IS) or the so-called ‘DAESH’ was birthed by the West. In other words, this organization was created and supported by the West and supplied it with weapons, funds and mercenaries.

“Hence all countries which are currently involved in financing the extremist organizations in the name of striving to topple the ‘bad’ regime must actually shun their schemes.

“These countries have actually destroyed Libya and Iraq and at the moment we see the mass destruction currently taking place in these two countries. They claim they are fighting terrorism but the question is: Why they destroyed Libya in the name of fighting terrorism?

“Speaking of Iraq, the government in Baghdad is currently attempting to liberate Mosul from the fiercest terrorist organization, ‘DAESH’. In this context, we recall when this organization appeared some nations underestimated the might of this organization.

“This happened although these countries were actually involved in supporting and financing ‘DAESH’ to boosting their influence in various parts of the region.

“For the time being, Syria is fighting terrorism, but it looks like the definition of this term is different in the dictionary of different countries. In other words, they are not ready to fight terrorism in Syria, because Syria subject at the moment to division.

“In other words, at the moment they are striving to divide Syria within the framework of their scheme or the so-called Sykes-Picot II. It is needless to say that terrorism in both Iraq and Libya is terrorism by all means.

“But the question is: why the relevant countries at the moment are dealing with the terrorism in Syria completely different from other countries and classified the terrorist organizations in Syria as armed opposition and moderate groups.

“Anyway, it seems the Western support to terrorism throughout the world negatively reflects on the Western countries, hence, we wonder, it this fact can be accepted. In this connection, we say the simplest type of terrorism can be represented by intellectually feeding terrorism and this is what exactly occurs at the moment in the West.

“In conclusion, we ask all Arab nations where they are now. And where is your weight. Oh! Arabs enough is enough you have to get rid of your frustration before the global imperialism enable us to live peacefully in our homelands.”

“The local terrain is in suspense over contentious issues that do not actually affect living and development as much as it affects political achievements and interests,” Yousef Al-Jassem wrote for Al-Jareeda daily.

“With due respect to some good lawmakers who present proposals and their supporters, we are angered by your suggestions because of the rate of danger they pose to the national security and social ties on one hand, and the negative implications they have on the value of activities, production on the other hand.

“We have yet to understand the recent commendable efforts to restore citizenship of those who had lost it earlier and those who were stripped of it due to certain reasons, and adoption of the proposed amendment to citizenship law expected to be presented at the National Assembly on March 28 by some lawmakers. This will lead to collapse of the national identity structure with the legitimization of dual nationality, and forging documents to obtain dual citizenship.”

“Some MPs are promoting the draft law scheduled for discussion at the session of March 28 concerning the ‘outrageous reform of citizenship law’ and what they describe as the major achievement of Parliament,” columnist Saud Al-Samaka wrote for Al-Seyassah daily.

“We dare ask God not to bless an achievement that helps to bring down the national identity of Kuwait. Citizens know the reason behind the attempt of the MP in question to amend citizenship law has nothing to do with patriotism or welfare of Kuwait.

“They also know he only aims at electoral benefit. Sadly, Government’s lackluster attitude to enforce law that prohibits dual citizenship led to the current situation of 20,000 Kuwaiti citizenship holders living abroad who hardly visit Kuwait.

“Kuwaiti citizenship means nothing to these people since they are only interested in material gain. I bet they will throw the citizenship in the garbage in case the associated benefits are cancelled.”

“The flaws are within us. While our enemies deliberately humiliate us and use every situation against our favor, we are hurting ourselves quite bitterly,” Dr Wael Al-Hassawi wrote for Al-Rai daily.

“The Libyans exerted a lot of efforts and even sacrificed their lives to get rid of a hated dictatorial regime of Gaddafi that controlled Libya for about 41 years. They took amazing steps to forming a national government for representing them. However, we were surprised by the appearance of a war criminal who was an officer in the Gaddafi army Khalifa Haftar. Unfortunately, he is supported by some Arab regimes that supply him with weapons in order to help him reproduce a new copy of the Gaddafi regime.

“Recently, video clips of Haftar’s militants digging graves, pulling out corpses and cutting them into chunks have been spreading on social media.

“After the Yemeni people started a revolution to topple the dictator Ali Abdullah Saleh, he returned to the scene with the support of the Houthis who are the Iranian arm in Yemen.

“Thanks to military interference of the Gulf Countries in the Yemeni issue, Yemen today would have been ruled by the Houthis. Unfortunately, some countries still support Saleh under the hope that the Muslim Brotherhood Group will reach power. Yemen is still bleeding and the civil war still continues.

“In Iraq, the war criminals have controlled the entire country. They created DAESH with the help of the intelligence of some Arab countries, and handed over Ramada and Mosul to them. They obligated the Gulf countries to pay billions of dollars to end DAESH.

“Syria was the big trap set up for the revolutionists because they rose against a dictator who is indeed our enemies’ cup of tea. The regime of Al-Assad is well-protected by Iran, Russia and Israel. Instead of seeing Arabs rescue the Syrians and support them to get rid of such a regime, we saw them do nothing. Furthermore, a number of Arab countries voted against UN decisions that accused the Syrian regime even after it used chemical weapons against the people.

“Iran, which keeps describing itself as Islamic, did everything possible to destroy Arab countries with the aim of exporting the miserable revolution. We are indeed our own enemies.”

“The standard of education in Kuwait and its products have fallen in the last five years to the extent that Kuwait now competes with many poor countries in term of low standard of education,”

Dr Ali Abdul-Rahman Al-Huwail wrote for AlAnba daily. “Education in Kuwait is free at all levels, including university, while the average cost of training a student in public schools per year is around KD 15,000 (equivalent to $45,000, which is less than half of the cost in private schools. However, the private schools perform better than public schools.

“The characteristics of a successful educational system include the ability to review and upgrade methods periodically. It should be part of the comprehensive national strategy always to be able to redirect affairs, if necessary, to serve labor market needs. It should also serve the national strategy in diversifying revenues.”
