Two Asian expatriate­s who violated the residency and traffic laws were arrested for running a liquor factory in Abu Halifa area.

According to security sources, Ahmadi securityme­n were patrolling Ahmadi area when they noticed a man walking in the area. As they approached him to check his civil ID, the suspect ran, prompting securityme­n to chase him. When they noticed him enter a flat, they obtained a warrant and raided the flat to discover it is a liquor factory.

They arrested two Asian expatriate­s who confessed to manufactur­ing and selling liquor.

The suspects were referred with barrels of liquor obtained from the flat to the concerned authoritie­s for necessary legal action.

Meanwhile, an Asian expatriate was arrested on Coast Road in possession of six bottles of locally manufactur­ed liquor. He was referred with the liquor bottles to the concerned authoritie­s for necessary legal action. By Munaif Nayef

KUWAIT CITY, March 26: A 39-year-old Saudi expatriate died and two Bedoun men who were with him sustained serious injuries when his vehicle toppled on Salmi Road.

According to security sources, when the Operations Room of Ministry of Interior received informatio­n about the accident, securityme­n and paramedics rushed to the location to discover one of the victims, a Saudi national, had died while the other two victims sustained serious injuries.

The injured victims were referred to Jahra Hospital while the corpse was referred to the Forensics Department.

A case was registered.

Boy electrocut­ed:

A 15-year-old Kuwaiti boy died due to electric shock inside a farm in Abdali area.

According to security sources, when the Operations Room of Ministry of Interior received informatio­n from a citizen who said his nephew suffered from electric shock when an iron rod that he was holding touched a live electric wire, securityme­n and paramedics rushed to the location with an air ambulance which then transporte­d the victim to Jahra Hospital. He was declared dead on arrival even though several attempts were made by doctors to revive his life.

The corpse was referred to the Forensics Department and a case was registered.

Two girls abducted:

Security operatives are looking for a person who kidnapped two girls (13 and 16 years old) in front of their house in Farwaniya area.

Mother of the two girls lodged a complaint with the Criminal investigat­ion Department and told officers that her daughters had gone to the vehicle to warm the engine, and few minutes later, they vanished without a trace. A case was registered for investigat­ion to find them.

Boy in suicide bid:

A seven-year old Kuwaiti boy attempted to commit suicide by hanging himself inside his room in Abdullah Al-Mubarak area. Even though his father denied that his son attempted suicide and said his son had fallen in bathroom, his mother informed the authoritie­s that it was a suicide attempt.

According to the police report, the incident investigat­or at Farwaniya Hospital referred a medical report to the Abdullah Al-Mubarak Police Station. The medical report explained that the hospital received a seven-year old boy who had no pulse, and some marks were

found on his neck. He was admitted in the Intensive Care Unit in critical condition.

The report revealed that the boy’s mother told the hospital that her son attempted to commit suicide but his father told them that he fell in the bathroom. Investigat­ions are underway to determine the circumstan­ces surroundin­g the incident.

Desperate youth:

An unidentifi­ed 20 years old youth who attempted to end his life by jumping from the roof of his house was rescued by police, reports Al-Rai daily.

According to reports it took the security authoritie­s two hours to convince the youth to give up the idea.

The victim reportedly was desperate after the divorce of the parents and the mother insisted that he should live with his father. A case of suicide attempt has been registered against the youth. In the meantime, the parents have been summoned for interrogat­ion.
