Municipality toils to clear rain puddles

The extensive operation launched by Kuwait Municipality to remove the rainwater, which had accumulated in several places throughout the country as a result of the heavy rains that the country witnessed last Friday, is ongoing. A total of 75 tanks and 150 workers are being used to carry out this operation.
The Public Relations and Media Department of Kuwait Municipality explained that teams from the Department of Cleanliness and Road Works have been working relentlessly in all governorates to remove the rainwater that had accumulated on several streets, roads and open yards in various parts of Kuwait.
The operation also involved removal of fallen trees such that a total of seven truckloads of trees have so far been lifted from various areas, roads and bridges. The Cleaning Department collected 300 garbage bags of wastes from Mubarakiya area. A total of ten

A Kuwaiti citizen was arrested in Ahmadi area for using drugs and possessing drugs and drug paraphernalia.
According to security sources, Ahmadi securitymen were patrolling the area when they suspected a jeep that was parked by the roadside with an occupant.
Securitymen approached the vehicle and checked the details of the driver to discover he is a Kuwaiti citizen in his 30s. Based on suspicions over his disoriented state, they checked him to find drugs and drug paraphernalia.
He was arrested and referred to the Drugs Control General Department for investigations.
