‘Fresh’ at Dar Al Funoon: Dar Al Funoon is presenting exhibition titled ‘Fresh’ by Karim Ghidinelli until April 22
Karim Ghidinelli was born in Brescia, Italy. He received his Bachelors and Masters degrees at Savannah College of Art & Design, Savannah, GA. He has widely exhibited in the United States of America and Europe. For the third time, Ghidinelli will present his most recent work at Dar Al Funoon. Karim lives and works in New York, USA.
Artist’s statement: Fresh, as in renewed, innovative and free. Freshness as the liberation from stagnant and redundant policies and tendencies. Fresh as positive, peaceful and meaningful evolution. In this ever certain world of absolute truths and populist totalitarianism. I offer no answer, merely the honesty of my journey, my reflections and dilemmas, I’d rather continue to ask, than attempt an overly simplistic answer.

KTAA 18th annual exhibition: Kuwait Textile Arts Association 18th annual exhibition: Alfunoon Hall, Dahiyat Abdulla Al Salam, exhibition hours: Monday, April 3 and Tuesday April 4, 2017, Time: 9:00 am to 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm. The exhibition will feature the judged show of recent works of members of Kuwait Textile Arts Association, Sadu weavers and also showcase display pieces from ‘Weaving Stories’ a contemporary interactive exhibition and outreach initiative honoring the textile arts of Kuwait along with display ‘Walls of Appreciation’ and ‘Wall of Recognition’ as special features.
TIES Center events: TIES Center announces following events – Tajweed and Recitation: Learn and practice the art of reciting the Holy Quran (tajweed). The instructor will also answer questions related to the meaning of the Arabic words and verses.
