Markaz Gold Sponsor to Kuwait Financial Forum

Banking sector issues in focus

KUWAIT CITY, April 3: Kuwait Financial Centre “Markaz” has announced its participat­ion as a Gold Sponsor to (Kuwait Financial Forum) that will be held today and tomorrow under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Emir of Kuwait. The forum is organized by Kuwait Banking Associatio­n in collaborat­ion with Al-Iktissad Wal-Aamal Group at Sheraton Kuwait and will include a number of relevant ministers, central bank governors, senior government officials and a group of senior leaders in the Arab, regional and internatio­nal financial, banking, advisory and economic institutio­ns.

The (Kuwait Financial Forum) is a platform to discuss issues and challenges facing the Gulf banking sector in the next phase resulting from the falling oil prices and budgets’ deficit. The forum will also discuss future options in depth with government­s, relevant regulatory authoritie­s and leaders of Gulf and internatio­nal banks and companies, as well as financial economists and experts in order to offer proposals for meeting those challenges and developing the banking sector in this highrisk phase.

He added that the conference discusses many topics including GCC Countries’ Economies & the Outlines of the Next Phase, Monetary & Banking Policies in light of the Gulf Economic Changes, Global Economy Trends & Investment Prospects, Gulf Economic Union, Prospects of the Gulf Banking Industry in light of Economic Changes, The Reality and Future of the Islamic Banking Industry and Digitalizi­ng the Gulf Banks.
