n my yesterday’s article, I shed light on the ever increasing fraud and deception in the state in quality and quantity. We see an increasing number of persons memorizing the Holy Quran.

We see them in the convoys heading for the pilgrimages, the construction of mosques, opening Husseiniyas, whether licensed or unlicensed and other manifestations of religiosity that contradict and conflict with the quasi-religious state in which we live.

Does anyone who holds fake academic degrees have an explanation for this contradiction?

In a surprise move one of the MPs who thinks he is smarter than the others has submitted a proposal according to which all low grade government employees who memorize the Holy Quran should be categorized as fourth grade, even if they do not hold any degree.

One of them said an employee would be downgraded if he/she forgot something which he/she had memorized.

We must not forget that the authorities periodically reduce the prison sentences of criminals who memorize the Holy Quran and deprive others of this privilege if they cannot.

This happens even if the behavior of the person who memorized the Holy Quran is worse than the other. This is like rewarding people who have a strong memory at the expense of others in spite of the fact all those who are serving time are not illiterate but smart in their deeds and thinking and planning.

The director of the Religious Education Department at the Ministry of Education disclosed that he will propose to the ministry to

Drifters nabbed:

Two Kuwaiti citizens, who were seen driving recklessly in Mangaf area in a video clip that went viral on social media, ware arrested, reports AlSeyassah daily.

The General Department of Public Relations and Media Security of Ministry of Interior explained that officers from General Traffic Department arrested two suspects after conducting investigations to find them based on the video clip in which they were seen committing serious traffic violations and driving recklessly in Mangaf area.

The General Traffic Department arrested the two suspects and referred them to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action against them. Citations were issued include religious education at the elementary level because at the moment it is excluded.

The director said there are seven religious institutes in Kuwait — not only one as I thought — at the intermediate and secondary level and 3,600 students attend the classes in the mornings and evenings. What surprises me is after 60 years of religious education we have yet to produce a Kuwaiti muezzin.

The Faculty of Sharia and Islamic Studies at the Kuwait University was founded 35 years ago in 1982 and people are in a race to join this faculty. One may ask here in spite of this why have we failed to produce enough imams.

The reason is not related to religion, but because success in Sharia colleges is guaranteed, and there is always an opportunity for graduates to work as lawyers or even to join the judiciary, in addition to working for the investigations department of the Ministry of Interior.

Certainly, none of them would like to work as muezzin or imam in mosques. May be in their mind they think these jobs are exclusively for expatriates. This college also attracts women and no one knows the reason why, but they have no other option other than religious teaching and you have to imagine the output.

In a tweet that has spread like wild fire the Saudi cleric and former imam of the Grand Mosque Adel Al-Kalbani said: The prize for the best inventor is 100,000 riyals and the prize for the best munshed (one who recites beautifully) 5 million riyals.

Oh government, relieve us of religious doses. Too much of anything brings about ruin. Even commercial banks compete with other state institutions in the Quran Memorization Contests.
