The British School of Kuwait hosts annual Art Exhibition
The British School of Kuwait (BSK) hosted their annual Art, Design & Technology Exhibition of 2017 at the Euston Gallery on the BSK campus. The school was delighted to welcome His Excellency the German Ambassador, Karlfried Bergner, accompanied by the German Cultural Attaché, Horst Blasinger, to open the exhibition and to present prizes to the winning students of the competition to design the artwork for the United Buddy Bear, awarded to BSK by the German Government. They then spent the evening viewing the artwork and talking to teachers, parents and students.
The Exhibition showcased the work of students from Reception to year 13 and was well attended by students, parents and VIP guests. The Art and Design & Technology Teams, along with the Lower and Junior Phases, presented work of a diverse nature including drawings, paintings, ceramics, photographs, and sculpture. Students across the Middle and Upper departments showcased the development of their work in the studio spaces and demonstrations of sculpting, wood turning and metal work were popular with the guests.
Guests were particularly impressed with the very high standard of art work on display from the Year 11 Fine Art examination students, as well as the work of the photography and graphic design students on the new suite of Apple computers.
Throughout the evening the BSK Brass Quintet entertained guests in the courtyard entrance with a wide selection of music. The exhibition continued during the week and was especially busy during Parent Consultation Days.
A further exhibition of final examination pieces will be on show in the gallery prior to Ramadan.
