-

KUWAIT CITY, April 12: The law of Kuwait Airways Corporation (KAC) will be reviewed to fix the gaps and breaches that have stained the corporation, reports Al-Nahar daily quoting informed sources.

They explained that the government has fixed a three-month grace period for presenting a bill to fix the breaches and resolve the situation of KAC. This grace period is supposed to end on April 20.

The bill will call for payment of the remaining capital, as stated in the provisions of law No. 6/2008 regarding the conversion of KAC into a joint stock company.

According to Article 3 of the law, the government will take control of KAC during the transition period before selling the strategic investment shares.

Meanwhile, head of National Popular Movement Saoud Al-Hajailan has said the movement will continue pressing for approval of laws that support labor rights, reports AlSeyassah daily.

In a statement, A-Hajailan cited unstable economic conditions, lack of strategic governmental vision and shaky confidence of citizens in the executive and the legislative authorities as among reasons for the establishment of political movements. He noted the movements are founded purposely to acknowledge others’ viewpoints and fight corruption through legal

channels with the help of media.

During its regular session on Wednesday, the National Assembly approved by majority a draft law on an agreement to exchange criminals between Kuwait and the UK.

In his speech at the session, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah underscored the importance of this agreement, adding that it was a step towards boosting bilateral ties with the UK that date back to 1775.

Sheikh Sabah thanked the assembly for approving the agreement that underwent several sessions between senior Kuwaiti and British officials.
