Decision to withdraw delayed projects
Bilateral ties between Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan very good: envoy
KUWAIT CITY, April 15: Minister of Public Works Abdulrahman Al-Mutawa has issued a decision to withdraw troubled and delayed projects from the contractors and companies that are executing them, reports Al-Anba daily.
According to a source, the decision to withdraw those projects became necessary due to the fact that some contractors and companies handling them suffer from financial problems that will not allow them to complete the projects within the stipulated period.
He revealed that two of the projects were already withdrawn because the contractors in charge stopped work for a long time beyond the duration of execution.
The minister enjoined senior officials of the ministry to ensure quick execution of the delayed projects by stipulating new programs and mechanisms for executing them and to avoid any further delay to meet up with the current trend.
The ministry has also contacted the State Audit Bureau over the need for coordination concerning withdrawal of projects because these delays have been affecting scheduled activities of the ministry. It has also been contemplating the need to reach an agreement with the monitoring agencies to either ensure the affected contractors and companies are no longer included in its activities or lay down legal conditions binding on the contractors and companies in that regard.
Ambassador of Kyrgyz Republic to Kuwait Jusupbek Sharipov affirmed that his country’s bilateral relations with Kuwait are very good and continuously developing in all aspects, reports Aljarida daily.
He revealed about some memorandums of understanding signed between his country and the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), indicating that there are about 15 agreements ready to be signed any time by the two friendly countries.
The ambassador highlighted the political cooperation between both sides in regional and international aspects, revealing that his country will host political discussions with Kuwait on April 24 at the foreign ministry level to explore a number of issues of mutual interest as well as some regional matters.
