FAIPS organized an educational trip to Barcelona for its students from March 22-28, 2017. The students set out on this trip to explore this beautiful city and their excitement knew no bounds. It was fine weather all along the trip. In Barcelona, history and traditions go hand in hand with emerging fashion and new trends in cuisine, culture and art. Barcelona offered them the possibility to enjoy the sea as well as the mountains. They started with a sightseeing tour of the city from Passeig de Gràcia, renowned for the famous Gaudi houses, casa Batlló and casa Mila (La Pedrera) as well as other majestic buildings of the Modern era. The next day they discovered medieval Girona. They took a walking tour of Girona’s picturesque old town. They learnt about the city’s wealth and admired the Cathedral and colorful houses along the Onyar river. They visited the Dali museum where they explored the collection of paintings, sculptures and jewelry.

Tibidabo Amusement Park was one of the wonderful attractions for the students. They also visited Camp Nou Stadium which was a dream come true for the students. They were overjoyed to see the museum, the team strategy room and the players’ room. Montserrat — The “Serrated Mountain” was the next point of interest. This unique rock formation is home to a Benedictine monastery and is a famous pilgrimage spot, boasting of the 12th century wooden statue of La Moreneta (The Black Virgin), Catalonia’s patron. This trip surely enriched the students with a slice of Spanish flavor — savouring Spanish culture, experiencing its culture and even picking up a bit of the language. Thanks to the school management, Principal, and the teachers who made this trip a memorable one for all the students.
