Fourth int’l nursing confab opens on May 14: Al-Enezi
Move to enhance nursing profession role
KUWAIT CITY, May 10: Chairman of Kuwait Nursing Association (KNA) Bandar Al-Enezi has announced that the 4th International Nursing Conference organized by the association will kick off on Sunday, May 14 at Regency Hotel under the patronage and in the presence of Minister of Health Dr Jamal Al-Harbi, reports Al-Rai daily.
Al-Enezi revealed that the conference aims at enhancing the role of nursing profession technically and administratively, getting acquainted with the latest developments in the profession at regional and international level, and motivating nurses to participate in scientific researches related to health welfare.
Meanwhile, the 5th Scientific Conference of Internal Medicine was launched on Wednesday, May 10 under the patronage of Minister of Health Dr Jamal Al-Harbi.
The conference is part of the activities of the awareness campaign titled “Join us … your health is precious”.
Chairman of the organizing committee of the conference Dr Yasser Ghadanfar revealed that 12 medical units will give free medical check-ups from the second day of the conference until Saturday, May 13 at Al-Maha Hall in Regency Hotel from 12 noon to 10 pm.
He said, “The participating units are Rheumatology, Diabetes, Endocrinology, Pulmonology, Kidney, Blood, Gastroenterology, Dermatology, Physiotherapy, Nutrition and Pharmacy, as well as Kuwait Osteoporosis Society”.
A delegation from South Korea will Thursday arrive in Kuwait to hold a meeting with senior officials of the Public Authority for Housing Welfare (PAHW) as a prelude to completing works on the “Smart City” project at South Sa’ad AlAbdullah Residential City, reports Aljarida daily.
According to an informed source, both sides signed an agreement for the planning and design of the twoyear project last month. The Thursday meeting will focus on the fundamentals of implementing partnership with the Koreans and the mechanism of the “Smart City” project. It will also work on overcoming all obstacles facing the Koreans that could impede works on the project.
He explained that the Korean delegation will discuss several major files on the part of Kuwaitis. This will include details about the design, architecture, construction and other relevant mechanisms for the units and several housing products. They will also deliberate on the modern Korean technology and rate of its appropriateness to Kuwaiti project at the South Sa’ad Al-Abdullah City.
