IICO to launch drive to alleviate sufferings of Palestinians
The Board of Directors of the International Islamic Charitable Organization (IICO) convened its 55th meeting during which the achievements of 2016 were discussed along with the strategic plans for next year.
The organization also congratulated the political leadership and the people of Kuwait as well as the Arab and Islamic worlds on the advent of the holy month of Ramadan.
IICO affirmed it will continue its relief, health, educational, Da’awa and social activities and programs.
Regarding the Syrian crisis, IICO

stressed that it spared no efforts in launching campaigns and relief programs. In December 2016, it opened a humanitarian village named, after His Highness the Amir, for Syrian refugees in Turkey’s southern Kilis city which accommodates 6,240 refugees.
The organization also opened Kuwait Medical Center for Prosthesis in Turkey with the cooperation of Zakat House and Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, for treating Syrian refugees.
Regarding the Palestinian issue, IICO launched various campaigns to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people.
It disclosed that it has been paying special attention to e-media after its revenues increased by 585 percent compared to last period.
During the upcoming month of Ramadan, IICO is set to launch a new campaign to promote various relief and developmental activities in tens of countries.
At international level, IICO participated in several regional and international summits and conferences to explore the current humanitarian situations around the world and build partnerships in the humanitarian field.
