Improve Barghouti’s health:
The top United Nations human rights official urged Israel to improve conditions for Palestinians in custody, especially the more than 1,000 whose hunger-strike was into its 38th day.
The strike followed a call by Marwan Barghouti, the most high-profile Palestinian held by Israel, for a protest against solitary confinement and an Israeli policy of detention without trial that has been applied to thousands of prisoners since the 1980s. (RTRS)
