‘Panel inspired by need to step up charitable works in the Arab world’

Committee executed several projects: Al-Husseinan

KUWAIT CITY, June 7: Chairman of the Arab World Committee at the Islamic Heritage Revival Society IHRS Fahad Abdulrahma­n Al-Husseinan revealed that the committee is inspired by the need to step up commitment and care for charitable works within the Arab world.

In a press release, Al-Husseinan explained that the committee has been executing a series of projects based on people’s needs. These projects include constructi­on of mosques, centers for welfare of orphans and widows and wells, Iftar meals and slaughteri­ng sheep for Eid AlAdha.

He affirmed that the committee has achieved a lot within a short period during which it built 13 mosques, renovated two mosques, renovated houses for poor people, dug four wells, and constructe­d ten water chillers and a water distillati­on plant.

Al-Husseinan stressed that the committee executed several other projects for propagatio­n of the religion and relief. He enumerated sponsoring sessions for Quranic memorizati­on, preachers and people with special needs, sponsoring 172 orphans, and helping 27 widows and families in the year 2016.

He added that the committee usually provides school bags and clothing for orphans at the beginning of every academic year.

In a press statement, the Assistant Undersecre­tary for Road Engineerin­g Sector Ahmad Al-Hisaan affirmed the keenness of the ministry about the procedures for opening the roads with the cooperatio­n of Ministry of Interior, represente­d by the General Traffic Department, with the aim of guaranteei­ng safety for those using the roads.

He said, “We caution the public to drive carefully and adhere to the road rules and regulation­s, as well as maintain the legal speed limits especially when using the temporary traffic detours”.
