NSH observes World Environment Day

-

World Environment Day was kicked off in various locations by NSH Global Village Harmony with awareness lectures, contests and sapling planting.

The theme for 2017 “connecting people to nature” was well elaborated in the awareness events organized at the various places by NSH. Among NSH’s list of CSR activities, more attention falls on the events such as World Environment Day and Beach Clean Up Drive, commended during the planning meeting held earlier, led by NSH Global Village Harmony President Sabu; Harikumar, PV Santhosh Kumar, Abdul Rahman, V.G. Nair, Dileep Kumar were among those present.

NSH responded to the urge of the UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres to cherish the planet that protects us, and that “without a healthy environment we can’t end poverty or build prosperity; we all have a role to play in protecting our only home”.

Winners were honoured by V.G. Nair who also planted sapling as a mark of respect to the mother earth. He hailed the volunteers team for their good work. The awareness session was handled by Pani.

Similarly, awareness events and sapling planting were held in Ahmadi, led by PV Santhosh Kumar. Winners were honoured.

Dileep Kumar led the campaign in Al-Zour. TSHJ environment engineer Subhi addressed the gathering and planted the saplings. Maximo, Ananthanpillai co-ordinated the event.
