Ooredoo visits Kharafi Activity Kids Center

KUWAIT CITY, June 7: Ooredoo, Kuwait’s fastest network, visited Al Kharafi Activity Kids Center with a number of participan­ts in its youth volunteers program last week. The visit comes to reiterate Ooredoo’s commitment to supporting all segments of society, especially during the Holy Month of Ramadan.

Volunteers were introduced to the different department­s within the center, and to the functions of each department, before volunteers organized an activity session for the children. In a statement to the press, Ooredoo highlighte­d its commitment to supporting all entities that look after people with disabiliti­es, and that this is deep-rooted within its corporate social responsibi­lity agenda.

Earlier this month, Ooredoo kicked off its Ramadan program of activities with distributi­ng hundreds of meals to the needy workers across Kuwait City with Ooredoo’s volunteer program truck. This is in addition to a distributi­on center in the company’s Ramadan tent, located across the head office on Soor Street.

The initiative­s were executed by Ooredoo’s own volunteer program members, led by the company’s Corporate Communicat­ions department. Additional­ly, Ooredoo held an Iftar feast for the children of the Kuwait Down Syndrome Center and their parents and the attending staff as part of its community outreach and corporate social responsibi­lity, sharing the festive spirits of the holy month. Ooredoo has previously collaborat­ed with a number of entities in Kuwait, such as Abdullah Al Nouri institutio­n to aid Syrian refugees in different part of the world, in addition its collaborat­ion with the ‘Kiswat Al Khair’ campaign to distribute clothes for needy families during the holy month.

Also Ooredoo representa­tives has conducted a visit to ‘Yadawi’ centre to give the volunteers a comprehens­ive idea about how to recycle waste, sort, and reuse it in manufactur­ing children toys to be donated to children in need. The program will include participat­ion from similar groups. Ooredoo reiterated its commitment to empowering youth and supporting groups that focus on volunteer work, and expressed its pride in partnering with reputable organizati­ons throughout the month of Ramadan to encourage volunteer work. Empowering youth is among Ooredoo’s top priorities through its CSR strategy.
