‘62 pc of project for design, construction is completed’
‘Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Bridge’
KUWAIT CITY, June 10: Assistant Undersecretary of Road Engineering Sector at Ministry of Public Works Eng Ahmad Al-Hassan revealed that 62 percent of the project for design, construction, completion and maintenance of Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Bridge (Doha Link) has been completed.
In a statement issued on Saturday, he affirmed that the project execution is moving towards the completion and handing over phase by end of 2018 based on the contractual time schedule without facing any delays, thanks to the efforts exerted by those working on the project to complete the project.
He said the project will also link the southern areas of the country with the northern areas, in line with the development plan for the next few years.
Eng Al-Hassan explained that the project, which is worth KD 165.708 million, includes construction of a causeway that starts from Shuwaikh Port and Kuwait Free Trade Zone, crossing the Kuwait Bay in west and passing through Umm Al-Naml Island until Doha area. The 14.4 kilometercauseway will link with Doha Express Road.
He stressed that the success and achievements of the sector in the current project would not have happened without the support of Ministry of Public Works headed by its Minister Eng Abdulrahman Al-Mutawa and his firm belief on the importance of big developmental projects which can achieve a quantum leap to the road network across the country.
