MoE interviews over 500 candidates for supervisor­y posts

KUWAIT CITY, June 10: The Ministry of Education interviewe­d more than 500 candidates to supervisor­y posts including 300 school principals, 60 supervisor­s for various educationa­l levels and 42 services supervisor­s; in addition to several others in technical units, libraries, exams and student affairs, reports Al-Anba daily quoting sources.

Sources added the ministry will interview 35 potential supervisor­s in human resources department­s and 20 in social and psychologi­cal services units.

Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs and State Minister for Municipali­ty Affairs Mohammad Al-Jabriya underwent appendix removal surgery recently, reports Al-Jarida daily.

The daily wishes the minister speedy recovery to resume work as soon as possible.

A recent study revealed that the total capital base of local banks is valued at KD 61 billion – 25 percent increase (KD15.3 billion) compared to KD 45.7 in 2010, reports Al-Shahed daily.

The study indicated the total capital base for foreign banks in the Central Bank of Kuwait (CBK) is KD 9.5 billion – 1.27 percent increase, while the rate of increase since beginning of this year is 0.7 percent.

The study added that one of the local banks occupies the top position with a capital base of KD 24.1 billion covering 39.5 percent of the total capital base. An Islamic bank is in second position with a capital base of KD 16.4 billion (26.8 percent) and 12th in GCC countries. Kuwaiti banks are rated among the best in the GCC in terms of capital base in the current year.
